Love bike touring and adventure travel, but been missing old school blogs?

Well, this is my attempt at them starting a comeback!

During my bicycle tour around the world (starting May 2025), I'll be keeping a classic, personal-style travel blog right here at Cycling Everywhere.

My aim is to update the blog with day by day entries, sharing my stories, experiences, tailwinds and headwinds.

In a world where the internet has become enshitified with Ai generated garbage, fake images and weird agendas, I'll just be, well, keeping it real. Pretty simple really!

Follow My Bike Touring Journey

As Cycling Everywhere is more or less a daily online diary (but complete with GPS maps, photos, and other info of the world cycle tour), it might seem a bit rough around the edges. I won't have spent hours perfecting each sentence. What's written is what came out on the day!

I also might not be able to update the blog in real time every day depending on where in the world I am. I will, however, have 'catch up' days, where a bunch of travelogues I have written offline get updated in a batch when I get internet access.

RTW Cycling Trip & Side Quest

So what can you expect to read here exactly?

This blog documents my ongoing project to cycle around the world, with a side quest to ride a bicycle in every country in the world.

Reality check: I'm not sure it's even possible.

Various countries might be off-limits to me depending on the politics of the day. Coming up with a cycling route will be a nightmare. Getting to some remote island country in the Pacific with a bicycle might also be a challenge. And, I've no idea how long it would take me.

Come to think of it, I'm not even sure how many countries there are in the world, so I'll have to come up with some sort of list of countries to work from.

Hmm.

However, where there's a will, there's a way! (Check list of countries in the main menu).

I'll aim to keep this blog updated on a regular basis, as close to real time as practically possible.

I'll also be sharing photos and shorter daily updates on Instagram, Facebook, and Komoot. And, if that doesn't already sound like a lot of work, I'll be making videos for YouTube as well!

I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I hope I do :)
